Dress to impress: Enter 2019 in style

You can never have too many outfit choices throughout December, it’s basically a month-long party (if you count many mulled wines at the markets as a party, which I most definitely am). So it’s a good idea to have a few under your belt, ready for those after-work drinks, Christmas and New Years parties.

When it comes to Christmas day, I’ve noticed there are two types of people. Some of us have absolutely no intention of leaving our pyjamas all day. The others, however, are allllll about getting dressed up for the occasion. If you LOVE getting dressed up for Christmas, you’re in the right place. If you’re one of the all-day pyjama people, don’t worry, these outfits will carry you all the way through to New Years.

Let’s start easy with the classic pair of jeans. Sometimes, the simplest outfit really is the best way to go. There is a reason ‘Jeans and a nice top’ is the go-to outfit for most of us. You can’t go wrong with a nice shirt tucked into a high-waist. Plus, a jean-based outfit is ideal for when you’re heading straight from the office.

Pair the jeans with pretty much any top, shirt, blouse you want – try blouses that glisten with a lacy black bra underneath.

Or even a bodysuit. These are perfect for a bar or a cocktail party.

Over the little black dress but still want an all-black number for a glam-look on New Years Eve? How about a little black jumpsuit instead? It’s sleek and will sculpt your silhouette perfectly.

For the lazy among us who just want to throw something on, a dress is your best friend. Opt for something silky, satiny and sparkly for Christmas Eve or New Years (or both).

Now, the most important part – shoes. It’s cold af out there so chunky boots are completely acceptable. To make them stand out, go for animal print or something sparkly.

If you’re feeling a lot braver and the warmth of your toes isn’t an issue high on your agenda, try a simple black heel with a pair of sparkly socks so you’re still embodying the holiday mood.

Now while your feet can handle some cold, the rest of you can’t – so you’re gonna need a coat of some sort. This scenario calls for a classic trench. It protects against the elements whilst remaining inoffensive and stylish – a true staple.

Of course, a bag is needed. Something that can be easily thrown over the shoulder so you don’t have to worry about it on the dancefloor.

And finally, find yourselves a christmas-cracking pair of earrings to top it all off. Even better, get 10% off these ones (or any from Wild Fawn) with the discount code ECO10

Whether you’re all for dressing up or you’re more of a Christmas day pyjama gal, there’s something here for everyone throughout the festive season. These outfits are sure to make you stand out among the crowd.
